Counselling in

Bristol

Hello

If you have found your way here, chances are you are looking for support, have questions you would like to explore, feelings you need to have witnessed or challenging thoughts you want to express.
Perhaps you are feeling stuck and looking for some guidance and direction. Perhaps you want to be listened to, simply have a break and to see what arises when someone else holds space for you.
Whatever your reason, you have arrived at the right place.

About Counselling

Counselling is a form of talking therapy in which two people meet, usually weekly, to explore whatever is troubling the client. We will first meet to discuss your reasons for coming to counselling and any therapeutic goals you may have. Our work can either be short-term or open-ended depending on your needs, which can be discussed in our first session.

I am trained in a Humanistic Integrative modality. This means that I am led by you with regards to the topics we discuss and the pace at which we work. I endeavour to empower, give you agency and am able to integrate different therapeutic theories and approaches to best suit you as an individual. I believe that you are the expert in your own experience and see us as two humans sitting across from each other, rather than me as expert and you as patient.

Whether you would like to process a particular event, explore difficult feelings, or delve deeper into your psychology and increase your self-awareness, all of you is welcome in the therapy room.

About me

As a counsellor in the final stages of my Level 6 professional training, I am offering low-cost counselling for adults in the centre of Bristol. My approach is warm, empathic and collaborative. My aim is to create a holding environment in which you can safely explore whatever you choose to bring.

My work is informed by my yoga practice which has taught me that our emotional experiences are often stored in the body and shown me how movement can support us to process these. I can guide you to use mindfulness and somatic techniques to connect with what is being held in your body.

After completing my foundational levels 2 and 3 in Counselling Skills, I went on to study for a three-year Postgraduate Diploma at the Bath Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling.

Before training to be a counsellor, I worked in the refugee sector for over a decade in various client-facing roles. I also have more than 3 years’ experience of working with young people at an intersectional therapy centre with a focus on trauma and attachment, and with adults with substance misuse concerns.

As a member of BACP I abide by their Ethical Framework and guidelines.

I charge £30 per 50 minute session.
